About Continuing Forward

The Anglican Joint Synods in October 2017 marked the beginning of unification efforts of four Anglican jurisdictions. To coordinate the mission and evangelism efforts of these G-4 Anglican churches, in October 2019 Continuing Forward was organized to support the planting of new churches, and the revitalization of existing churches. Both efforts are essential the vitality and growth of the Continuing Anglican movement in the United States.


In January 2020, at the second meeting of the Anglican Joint Synods, Continuing Forward held its first organizational meeting for clergy and laity representing all four jurisdiction. Those present discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by the leaders of new and smaller Continuing Anglican parishes — and expressed interest in pooling resources and working cooperatively to plant new churches and improve the health of existing churches. This website was launched in February 2021 to allow Continuing Forward to share information to disseminate this information.

In 2021, Fr. Wade Miller (Rector, St. Philip's Anglican Church, Blacksburg, VA) replaced Bp. Perkins as the APA representative. In October 2023, Fr. Miller stepped down and was replaced by Fr. Mark Perkins (no relation), the chaplain of St. Dunstan’s Academy in Nelson County, Virginia.


In 2024, the Executive Committee of Continuing Forward continues as Bp. Hewett, Fr. Mirable, Fr. Perkins and Mr. West.
